Just in time for Spring, Weed Diamond’s latest, “Snowmelt”, is set as the a-side for 7″ single release. Since it’s over the top good, it would only make sense for our friends at Transparent to press this gem. With “Oklahoma” on the flip, these two sunny pop tunes are perfect for keeping those icicles off yr eaves. On top of all this, we’ll get to hang with both WD and the Transparent dudes in Austin in the coming weeks. Limited to 300 copies, order now.

After all of those lonely solo shows, the great Ryan (and his silky baritone voice) is finally back in action. This weeks playlist was pruned and handpicked by the man himself, so you know it’s good. Don’t forget to come out to the Granada Theater on the 10th for Jay Reatard, Fergus & Geronimo, and Surfer Blood.

Click here and you will be on your way to the third episode of Weekly Tape Deck radio on Indie-Verse. This week we’ve decided to throw a classic in the mix and will probably continue the tradition every week, or as we see fit. Aside from that we’ve got some brand new tracks from The Magic Kids, Happy Family, Best Coast, and The Sandwitches. Click the jump for a complete tracklisting and right here for a link to listen.

These new guys out of Cleveland, Neon Tongues, are going to be the reason for yet another lo-fi sub-genre (no worries, I’m not gonna be “that guy” and try to name it). This might have very well been recorded on one of those Home Alone talkboys, but I’ve always been a sucker for raw dusty recordings. Also, never knew that Tim Perry (Weed Diamond) had his own blog. Looks like he’s crushin’ on these guys too.

Since Weed Diamond is such a sweetheart, he has graced us all with yet another wonderful song, I tell you, I love prolific bands. In “Arlington Baby” we turn down the noise and get a little lo-fi Amnesiac with it; it almost seems this song is a prelude to another aural pleasure we have yet to hear. Enjoy the song and keep in touch with Weekly Tape Deck for all your future Weed Diamond needs.

Tim Perry (Weed Diamond) just introduced us to a previous side project of his, Single Skips. Apparently, it’s always 4:20 in Denver as the tracks offered were off the appropriately titled Lush/Cola Tape. Less guitar and more laptop, but it’s still as intriguing as his WD project.

The guys at Mirror Universe Tapes keep dropping dimes in my mailbox these days. Some new faves of mine, Weed Diamond’s tracks have been absolutely killing my speakers for the last couple of weeks. “All of Denver is Wasted” is set to appear on their latest MU release, Sweater Kids. No pre-order set up yet, but keep an eye out. Also, check Weed Diamond’s calendar for drops with Leftist Nautical Antiques (cassette) and Transparent (7″).

I was already talking about chilled beach beverages earlier this week, so it must be fate that I discover the delicious gems of Pina Chulada. Actually, their already hot “buds” from Denver, Weed Diamond, tweeted up and made me keen to these guys. For the time being, PC only have a few tunes streaming on their Myspace but they are already in the process of recording some jams for the future. Lucky for me (and you if you’re reading this), they sent over “What You Mean” and don’t mind spreading the love.
