ty segall//hey big mouth [in a cloud comp]

Secret Seven Records is prepped to a release a new compilation on the eve March thatĀ encompassesĀ the vast range of sound coming out of the San Francisco area. The compilation titled In A Cloud: New Sounds From San Francisco and includes new tracks from Thee Oh Sees, The Fresh & Onlys, Ty Segall, Tim Cohen, Sonny & The Sunsets, The Sandwitches, Hannah & Raven (of Grass Widow) and tons more. Im stoked about hearing anything new from Ty Segall so I present this to you via the wonderful Secret Seven Records; “Hey Big Mouth” is the song and its a roarin’ raucous punk tribute, hard hitting and as snotty as the Dead Boys. You can pre-order the LP here.

sonny & the sunsets//strange love

Sonny & the Sunsets is Sonny Smith out of the lush musical forest of San Fransisco whose Tomorrow Is Alright LP will be coming out on November 17th through Soft Abuse. This songs on this record have essentially blindsided me as I had no prior knowledge of Sonny before hearing this record, and I can’t speak for anyone else but this record might just be coming out at the perfect time. Sonny & the Sunsets play stimulating and practically theatrical piano-driven tunes that would feel at home both modern-day at a cluttered house-show in North California or in the early 60s playing alongside Robert Zimmerman in a Greenwich Village bar. I implore you to pre-order this record (I did) on vinyl here for a great cause, and since this initial pressing is limited to only 500 you will be the coolest kid on the block with one of the coolest records this year.
