Out of respect for Trevor, I will refrain from trying to “classify” his music or using any of the new ever-so-popular genres: ”shitgaze”, “buzzsaw”, or “nut-sack garage”. However, branding something just simply as “music” is all too vague. Sounds evolve and, of course, people will try their best to put some sort of verbal descriptor on them. His most recent blog entry might help you to realize his frustrations. As it would seem, Natural Numbers upcoming LP, Comma [via Neon Aztec], appears to be an unfortunate swan song. Immense walls of droning noise and throatfuls of echo-y reverb would make even Kevin Shields proud. Even though there appears to be an inability to properly cope with criticism, these tunes speak for themselves. Not sure what these “bigger things” are that Trev-o will be taking on, but if it’s anywhere near the same level as Comma I’m sure it won’t disappoint (if it even has anything to do with music).
