wetdog//trehorne beach song

From the womb of bands like the Slits, the Raincoats and X-Ray Spex (favorites of Nate Tapedeck’s) arises modern day post-punk bands like Wetdog; covered in afterbirth and ready to spit in someone’s face. But honestly this band rejuvenates female lead post-punk with a modern flair. After putting out a series of 7-inches and one full-length, the band is prepped to release their new record in just a few days (Nov. 30) titled Frauhaus! and out on Angular Recording Corporation. You can pre-order the CD or the “heavy weight transparent yellow vinyl” here.

raincoats reissue

raincoats

If you are fans of UK post-punk, like us, you’ll be happy to know that Kill Rock Stars is now pressing a reissue of The Raincoats essential debut album.  Also, the ladies will be performing a handful of North American tour dates which will be their first time to play the west coast.  Although there are no Texas dates on their list of stops, the vinyl reissue will fill a long held void in my catalog.  No info on a pre-order yet, but The Raincoats is set for release on October 10th.
