Now outside of our “usual” hour of radio antics, the guys at Indie-Verse have given us a “prime” slot and we will now be soothing your ears every Thursday at 4 PM CST. According to the meterologist, it’s balls cold today so we’ve slowed the mix down a bit (with only a couple of hard hitters). This week’s effort was another solo run but expect Ryan to make it for the next. It’s been a busy week with moving, work, and some SXSW planning but (teaser) we’ve got some good/big news coming your way real soon. Click HERE and follow the links to tune in.

Though this technically is not brand-spanking new tunes like you have come to expect from us, it is worthy of some attention. Darlings are a Bleecker Street born quartet that wear their influences on their heathered-sleeves. Yes you could throw them in with the 60’s revival garage pop but I can sense a bit of one dissonant band from the 90s that is named after cemented-gravel (pssst.. Pavement). It just so happens this band is playing a CMJ showcase this Tuesday for those of you who are in the area. Furthermore their newest full-length can be purchased from a lovely little indie label.

New single from West Coast punkers Mika Miko, “I Got A Lot (New New New)”. Just your typical MM jam that smacks you in the face with rapid drum attacks and linear chord progressions. Mika Miko’s new album We Be Xuxa, will be be available for purchase May 5 on PPM Records.
