Tons been going on the past few weeks, some reissues from Black Tambourine and The Magnetic Fields in the making, our friends finishing their EP, and some cool devs in SXSW type stuff (stay tuned). Stop by our friends at Indie-Verse (4 PM CST) and click the link to listen. Check the playlist and cop some mp3s after the jump.

Lemonade comes straight from the loins of True Panther Sounds, the purveyor of good tunes under the Matador label. This new song we are gifted is titled “Lifted” and is a cacophony of separate bleeps and soundbytes, but are somehow digestible when put together. Simple, almost a Jens Lekman dialogue-form. Their new EP Pure Moods will be out March 9th–right before the big-bash down-south at SXSW.

This is Part 1 in a 27 part series called Unfulfilled Obligations. If there are any readers out there who care, I apologize that I completely fell off after week one of our June shows piece. I am a busy man, and I still haven’t really learned how to do a damned thing on this website. The few times I have posted, Nate had to put it up for me. He has compassion for his little helmeted friend. He will show me the light, and I will try to become more of a contributor to this little blog of ours. (update: Jordan made his first post on his own.) Lord knows they need me. I mean, top 25 songs of the year, and no Dirty Projectors?! Really Nate? Really? No Fever Ray? For shame, sir. For shame. Jokes. But for real. Ok, so that’s the best apology you’ll get. Let’s talk about music.
For those of you who missed the Grizzly Bear show on Monday night, you should probably cry. You should also blame me, because I didn’t tell you about it. Of course, you’d still be an idiot. Everyone knew about that show. Sold out. Second time to see Grizzly Bear. This time, better in every way. Too bad Nic wasn’t there with his camera, or you’d be able to see what you missed. My show picks for the rest of the week:
Wednesday, June 17
The Wooden Birds @ House of Blues Dallas

Balmorhea / Tiny Vipers @ Hailey’s
Two great shows each with a band from Austin. Choose the closest venue, I guess. If location doesn’t matter, Hailey’s is the better venue by far, and a perfect setting the two lovely bands playing there.
Thursday, June 18
St. Vincent / Pattern Is Movement @ Granada Theater

Santigold / Amanda Blank @ House Of Blues Dallas
This decision is all about what mood you’re in. I can vouch that St. Vincent puts on a fucking killer live show. She’s also amazing to look at for two hours. But, I’m sure Santigold fucking brings it, so that’s definitely an option. Kind of weird pairing St. Vincent with Pattern Is Movement. They definitely have a lot in common musically, but I don’t think that fans of one are necessarily fans of the other. I could be wrong. Maybe I underestimate the complexity of taste in the average concertgoer.
Friday, June 19

Meat Puppets @ House Of Blues Dallas
I’ve seen Meat Puppets, and you will so not be disappointed if you go to that show. But, Camera Obscura at The Loft is too good to pass up. Never seen them, they probably don’t make it down from Glasgow very often, and The Loft is a great venue.
Saturday, June 20
Telepathe / Lemonade / Fight Bite @ Hailey’s

Holy shit! Go to this show! If you’re already in Denton, then you really better be there. Fun shall be had. Indie kids will dance. Or, at least nod semi-rhythmically. Go.
