One of three new Leftist Nautical Antiques releases is Denver’s own Junior Low (with the other two coming from Kevin Greenspon and CarterMullin). This tightly knit “syrupy shoegaze” is actually echoing through my speakers as you’re reading this. You might want to know, also, that LNA is throwing a sweet Spring Deal where you can buy yr tapes in bulk at discounted prices.

Nevada’s Boneless has already been making some choice rotations, and has just set me up with his latest recordings. The right pair of headphones, and “Breathless” can turn you completely catatonic. Like many of the DIY bedroom dreams, a world of infinite loops with faint and distant vocals is created. In come the comparisons to other like minded samplers such as Shahs or Happy Family. As a matter of fact, about half way through “Better” (if you listen close) sounds like there could be a “Comfy in Nautica” loop thrown in there. In the relatively near future Leftist Nautical Antiques will release more of his recordings via cassette. Looking forward to the future.

Already owning a monopoly on the most rad 7″s, Transparent widens eyes once again with the announcement of their release of Brooklyn’s Small Black. The pop-y “Kings of Animals” is the flip side to the also amazing “Despicable Dogs” (which can be streamed here). Limited to only 300 copies internationally, these gems can be purchased in the US through Leftist Nautical Antiques and in the EU through Pure Groove.

On a roll with these Ronettes styled drum lines today. The latest from Austin’s Pure Ecstasy comes in the form of “DWLDWD”. Crying from the same reverbed cavern as his other remarkable tunes, Nate Grace and co. have created yet another awe striking moment. His latest release, Future Nostalgia, will be dropping soon via Leftist Nautical Antiques. Check out their new makeover and order the latest Pure Ecstasy jams. Props to Rose Quartz for the tip.

Leftist Nautical Antiques upcoming cassette, Tiny Dots, from Yarn Owl is a glimmering folk pop delight. Jangly guitars and beautiful harmonies that bring a certain R. Pecknold group to mind. Actually, these guys also call the state of Washington home, which would explain their nature/mountain inspired sound. In “Yarn Blues” I’m sure you’ll see what I’m talking about. Click here to head to the LNA store and pre-order this limited edition cassette.

The guys at Mirror Universe Tapes keep dropping dimes in my mailbox these days. Some new faves of mine, Weed Diamond’s tracks have been absolutely killing my speakers for the last couple of weeks. “All of Denver is Wasted” is set to appear on their latest MU release, Sweater Kids. No pre-order set up yet, but keep an eye out. Also, check Weed Diamond’s calendar for drops with Leftist Nautical Antiques (cassette) and Transparent (7″).
