Smoothly skating into our 5th episode of WTD radio (courtesy of the rad fellows at Indie-Verse) I put together a quick list of everything that I’ve been listening to for the past week. New tracks from Wild Harem and Harlem (both out of Austin, I might add), Wetdog, and Americans in France. For good measure I’ve peppered in some classic favorites of mine. I know you’re probably missing the silky smooth linguistics of Ryan, but he will be back next week. I promise. To get thrown into our regular rotation send all tracks to weeklytapedeck@gmail.com and we’ll give it a listen. Click HERE to listen. Hit the jump for mp3s and tracklist.

Along with our good, good friends at Indie-Verse we will be presenting the upcoming Jay Reatard, Fergus & Geronimo and Surfer Blood show at the Granada Theater on December 10th. Skilled with the pen, Andrew Savage of F & G has even put together this rad flyer for the show. We’ve got 5 pairs of tickets to give away so just e-mail us at weeklytapedecktix@gmail.com. Usually the most clever responses win, just sayin’. Buy tickets.

Our fourth episode will, not only, have some great new tracks up (from Beach House, Brilliant Colors, and Total Slacker) but we are also having a contest. Just use these easy to follow steps and we will send you a unique cassette tape of today’s show sans commentary, of course. We are also including a “one-of-a-kind” hand designed sleeve for the cassette. Cool, right? Well, whether you think so or not just email us at weeklytapedecktix@gmail.com with the artist name and title of the very last song in our rotation. First person to do so is the winner! Honestly, it’s not incredibly hard to name but contests are fun and so are mix-tapes so use yr ears. Tune in to Indie-Verse, listen, and get a cool cassette. ALSO! Don’t forget to catch Neko Case tonight at the Granada Theater. Tracklist after the jump.

Click here and you will be on your way to the third episode of Weekly Tape Deck radio on Indie-Verse. This week we’ve decided to throw a classic in the mix and will probably continue the tradition every week, or as we see fit. Aside from that we’ve got some brand new tracks from The Magic Kids, Happy Family, Best Coast, and The Sandwitches. Click the jump for a complete tracklisting and right here for a link to listen.

After playing a great set at Fun Fun Fun Fest and heading up to Denton to play another killer show, Crystal Antlers stopped with our friends at Indie-Verse and played a four song acoustic set. On the 12th floor of the CBS Radio building (the only place where you could get away with humongous restroom picture windows) CA played four songs acoustically for Indie-Verse’s “Live in the Loo” segment. Actually, they didn’t have an acoustic guitar so they took one off the station’s wall. Think it was signed by Don Henley, Dan Fogelberg, or some other random ass dude. This cover of Bob Dylan’s “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” is one in four of the tunes that they played for us. Our good friend Jordan B even came out of “retirement” to shoot and edit this clip. We’ve even included this mp3 for yr ipods.

Still going strong two weeks into our programming on, the great, Indie-Verse radio and we’ve got another nice lineup of tunes. We’ve got the local scene covered with some tracks from Fergus & Geronimo and The Uptown Bums. Also, my new collective friends from Oxford, MS, Cats Purring, have their fair share of play time. Listen to the show today at 1 PM CST and again on Saturday at the same time. We’ll be in Denton (at Rubber Gloves) tonight for our show with Crystal Antlers, Video and Uptown Bums. Come say hi. Head here for the link to stream. Hit the jump for the tracklisting.
