Normally I track the weekly mixtape with newer, “more current”, songs but I had to throw in an old N.W.A. classic to express my frustration for the speeding ticket I got on the way home today. You got it, Fu** tha Police! People have places to go, and I guess traffic patrol helps to make you late for whatever that place may be. Radio comes on: Faust?! Yeah, if Faust had snorted an eight ball and shotgunned a six pack of Red Bull. Higamos Hogamos debut LP (s/t) was released almost a month ago on DC Recordings, and, once again, I’m behind the curve. Dosen’t matter, a tune this good, I’m just happy to have found it. Their album is so conflicted, ranging from the depths of Kraut to funky disco break beats. Not much to be said in thier vocals, but try not to get lost in the instrumental madness. “Major Blitzkreig”, one of my favs on the album, is a warzone of drums and synths that will have you pressing the repeat button for days.
