There are plenty of good/great albums that are released within a year’s time, but it is a rare moment when a prefect album is created. Today is the official release date for Beach House’s gorgeous Teen Dream, their first album on Sub Pop, and it is just that. Perfect. Already (and predictably) earning Pitchfork’s nod of BNM, as well as millions of blogger swoons world wide, this piece of magic can now be owned in a unique “collectors edition” type package and all without spending $50+. Teen Dream comes beautifully jacketed as a 2xLP with lyrics/artwork and a DVD containing videos for each track on the album, “Silver Soul” being directed by Legrande herself. Order Here.

And now for the contest:

The 21st of April at the fine Granada Theater in Dallas, our friends at Gorilla vs Bear are presenting Beach House along with Washed Out. I’ve been eagerly waiting to see both and here they are at the same place at the same time. Amazing job on the flyer too, I might add. The awesome dudes at the Granada have given us TWO PAIRS of tickets to hand out for this show. Email us at weeklytapedecktix@gmail.com, leave a comment or any leave indication that you’d like to go and we’ll pick a winner at the end of the week. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

Along with our good, good friends at Indie-Verse we will be presenting the upcoming Jay Reatard, Fergus & Geronimo and Surfer Blood show at the Granada Theater on December 10th. Skilled with the pen, Andrew Savage of F & G has even put together this rad flyer for the show. We’ve got 5 pairs of tickets to give away so just e-mail us at weeklytapedecktix@gmail.com. Usually the most clever responses win, just sayin’. Buy tickets.

Next Friday at the Granada Theater (9/25), The Horrors will be on stage bringing some love in the form of extremely loud shoegaze tunes. Judging by their pictures, they are very engaging with the crowd. I mean the guy has no trouble singing from the chicken fight position. Expect some other favs of ours, Crocodiles, to set the stage as openers along with the DFW natives, Burning Hotels. Nate the Great from Granada has given us two pairs of tickets to give away to our readers! Send emails to weeklytapedecktix@gmail.com and tell us yr favorite flavor of ice cream to win. If you don’t win, make sure to buy your tickets from the Granada because they are oh-so-cool about not ravaging you with outrageous convenience fees.
