What seems to be coming as quarterly audible treats, Ian over at Friendship Bracelet has just forged his third installment of FBC vol. 3. Per usual, the deep droning sounds compiled here seem to exercise parts of your brain you didn’t even know existed. Check out a snip here of Fluker Love’s early 90’s shoegaze inspired “Soaked” and pick up the rest at FB’s humble abode.

Our friend Ian over at Friendship Bracelet just turned my on to this “total Phil Collins UB40 shit”. Apparently Raw Thrills is a project of Zak Mering (remember Silent Talk?) and the dude’s still killing it on the drum machine.

After seeing the name of Brooklyn lazy psychers, Total Slacker completely lives up to it’s name. Unbelievably hazy garage pop and as Friendship Bracelet so eloquently put it, “one might assume they like skateboards, pizza, and weed”. Spot on, sir. Oh, and Alicia Silverstone is their drummer, which can only add to how awesome these dudes already are. Only a few tracks to go by so far and they’ve also got a few on their muxtape page.

Another great compilation from yet another great blog. Friendship Bracelet has been holding it down all year with his syrupy discoveries and is capable of chilling you out more than a bottle of vicodin and a bag from yr local sharecropper. Not only is this mix up for freeload, but he’ll send you a cd-r enveloped in Donruss. Send an email to iprnelson@gmail.com for details. Ian just told me he scooped up a Paypal for Dummies book at Barnes and Noble so that PayPal link will be up in no time. DOWNLOAD!

Featured in the greatness of the Friendship Bracelet Club Comp and recently reminded to us all in the latest Bobkast, I’ve been getting sleepy with Paralyze Humanity Sequence’s “Hammock”. A lot. Which is very likely to be one of the most chill kick-back tunes this Summer. Sure this parallel has been drawn before, but this takes me back to ‘07 when Person Pitch was the music that everyone seemed to chill and kick-back to. This ep was released a while ago, but that’s no excuse to not show some love here. Besides, the ep can be grabbed for the low price of free (on his myspace), but it would be super cool of you to drop a donation. You can hear “Hammock” from one of the many options listed above but while you’re here, take some time with “Wise Guy”.

Quite possibly some of the sickest artwork to grace the front of an album. Sort of reminds me of that time Kenny was cheesing on South Park. Box Elders deliver more of that earnest lo-fi garage scuzz in quick hard hitting fashion. Thanks to Friendship Bracelet for bringing these guys to my attention earlier. Their debut LP, Alice and Friends, was just released this month on Goner Records.

While making my internet rounds the other day, I happened to see our Hold Yr Breath mixtape pinned up at one of our favorite record label’s blogs. Underwater Peoples, that is. It was also good to see that the mix was in good company with a variety of other mixes from some of my favorite music watering holes. One of these mixes that particularly caught my eye was that of the Wild Animal Kingdom. Fathering many of the artists that are now on Underwater Peeps from Julian Lynch to Pill Wonder, and it doesn’t stop there. On cassette, Wild Animal Kingdom’s second compilation features a heavenly dish of those chill laid-back tunes that are making everyone’s summer more enjoyable. Head over to their site, check out the catalogue, and order what you fancy. The 2nd comp is set for a FREE download and here are a couple tracks that have stood the test of my rewind button.
Karl Blau – I Hold You High

Been digging on Pill Wonder ever since the rad Underwater People comp dropped earlier this year, up for download at Butter x Face. Just recently, Friendship Bracelet was able offer up some listenings that extended past the PW myspace page. “What We Know”, is a sticky stroll through the rain forest after your buddies told you not to lick that tree frog. Head over to Friendship Bracelet for some more great Pill Wonder tunes. While your over there, make sure to join the club and grab his latest summer compilation.
