As eerie/haunting as Flight’s tunes are the fact that he would title one “Ghosts” is only appropriate. I mean, insert whatever “chilling” ,”ghoulish” adjective you like, point is: Flight KILLS. Actually they are set to tour, playing some of their first ever live shows, and (thanks to Parade of Flesh) they will be stopping through Dallas on May 15th (accompanied by Harlem and PVC Street Gang) at one of our favorite haunts, City Tavern. “Ghosts” b/w “Crackerjack Woman” is the latest release from Flight as well as Parisian label Plastic Spoons Records and is available to pre-order.

Still going strong two weeks into our programming on, the great, Indie-Verse radio and we’ve got another nice lineup of tunes. We’ve got the local scene covered with some tracks from Fergus & Geronimo and The Uptown Bums. Also, my new collective friends from Oxford, MS, Cats Purring, have their fair share of play time. Listen to the show today at 1 PM CST and again on Saturday at the same time. We’ll be in Denton (at Rubber Gloves) tonight for our show with Crystal Antlers, Video and Uptown Bums. Come say hi. Head here for the link to stream. Hit the jump for the tracklisting.

Honestly, I haven’t been sleeping on this–although some serious ears have already caught on. Already in good company with Vancouver based Sweet Rot Records, Flight’s psych-noise is thick enough to give graveyards worldwide that trademark fog that only seems to be real in movies. Haunting vocal effects and a buzzsaw guitar worthy of severing limbs, blast this from your house if you forgot to buy candy and trick-or-treaters won’t step near yr porch. Paypal sweetrot@hotmail for a copy.
Complimentary:
We’ve already talked about fellow Oxford, Miss. noise mongers Dead Gaze and Bass Drum Of Death (best band names for Halloween?), but here’s to keep you cool to their collective, Cats Purring. A rad collab of dudes also including Flight and Dent May. Check it.
