Another solo show this week featuring new tracks from French Kissing, Eat Skull and Bad Sports. Looks like Ryan will be settled in at his new place soon and his Daewoo is almost out of the shop, so we hope to be back together more frequently. Also, listen up at the end of the show for details on a ticket giveaway to an upcoming show this weekend. Tune in here at Indie-Verse at 4 PM CST and listen up.

Bitter cold and rural suburbia boredom have kept Alec locked in for the past few weeks. The result: some serious time spent hand crafting killer tunes. Making progress towards a new release, Trend Trash, Expensive Looks has dropped another head cold in “Simon”. Congested and sluggish buildups, tropical breaks and reverb soaked in enough codeine to fill even the largest Dirty South styrofoam cup. Expensive Looks is still proving to stand out in whats showing to be a “crowded bedroom” of one man pop outfits.

Today (Thursday) at 4 PM CST I (Ryan) continue our new time slot with a solo run as Nate was out of commission this week. So I took this opportunity to play what I love the best–twee and power pop. Of course thats not all, I sprinkled in the new stuff as always, new cuts from Fiveng, Grouper, Truman Peyote and Active Child brings the drone and dance to this party. As always click HERE to listen to the show.

Alec (Expensive Looks) has sent over a few high risers before but nothing as cosmic as his latest, “Living Scene”. Coupled with star shooting phazers and explosive crashes, there’s a serious back road night ride feeling. One where light pollution is non existent and the entire universe can be seen. Think I might have mentioned their upcoming release on Mirror Universe Tapes (if so, here it is again), so pop this thing in yr deck and roll down the sunroof. “LEGIT”.

Alec Feld (Expensive Looks) has sent over this track from his new “rap/dance/r&b/shoegaze” project named Public Safety. At 8 minutes 20 seconds you can expect “Mutual Feedback” to be a grower but it doesn’t take too much time to reach maturity. Aside from this, Expensive Looks has previously sent over some great tracks and has an upcoming release due out on Mirror Universe Tapes.

Made friends with Alec of Expensive Looks recently and he has since tuned me in to his lo-fi bedroom jams. Actually, in a search for some EL goods I noticed that Dodge has even caught on in his “Under the Radar” segment for their latest ep, Ruralized (available for streaming and digital purchase). But it’s what’s to be offered on the upcoming Almost Gone that has really caught my attention. Alec sent over these two tunes to appear on that title and I’ve had them on repeat all night: “But What Was” and “Found Out”. Hang loose with these and I’ll update you later with some release info.
