Stereogum premiered a new rock-a-bye-ing track from the Dum Dum Girls this morning, D.A.L. is actually off the previous extended-play they released on Zoo Music, but will accompany the new full-length if you pre-order through Sub Pop. The track is an emotionally static, it starts low and it stays low. We can only hope that the Dum Dum Girls haven’t opted out of their lo-fidelity recording niche, I think it captures the vocals perfectly. Do you agree/disagree?

Another solo show this week featuring new tracks from French Kissing, Eat Skull and Bad Sports. Looks like Ryan will be settled in at his new place soon and his Daewoo is almost out of the shop, so we hope to be back together more frequently. I’ll be keeping it “traditional” today and share another new (like 2 days ago) Christmas inspired track. Believe it or not, it snows in Texas (especially today). While I wouldn’t call this a “cold” Christmas tune, Dum Dum Girls and Crocodiles have created enough fuzz in “Merry Christmas (Please Don’t Die)” to rival the white gusty haze that’s outside right now.

Crocodiles are the conduit for a 60’s acidelic revival on their newest song “Hollow Hollow Eyes” of which is being released on Art Fag in a four-way split with Dum Dum Girls, Graffiti Island and PENS–each band contributing one fuzzed-out pastry of tunes. Currently Croc’s are on a tour of Oz and New Zealand performing for masses down under. You can pick up the split 7-inch on the Art Fag website.

Smoothly skating into our 5th episode of WTD radio (courtesy of the rad fellows at Indie-Verse) I put together a quick list of everything that I’ve been listening to for the past week.
