Just got a preview in the mail for the new album Big Green, from Quiet Life, an americana folk (alt country, indie…whatever classification you want to give, etc.) band originally based out of New Haven, CT. These guys now call the west coast home and have enlisted producer Beau Raymond (Little Joy, Devendra, Jayhawks, Ryan Adams) to sweeten their sound. Just loving the minimalist musical approach and main singer Sean Spellman’s great voice on these tracks. Any harmonizing on the rest of the album?? I’d like to find out. I’m going to include the title track off their new album, “Big Green,” and “Cave Country” to start off your Friday with a lot more relaxing music than we’ve been posting lately. Some more info on them here from a recent time they made their way through Texas. I’m really digging what I hear so far and am looking forward to this release. Also, I’m going to link directly to some merch (which coincidentally) sports their namesake and are some pretty rad t-shirt designs.

I enjoy this quote from Ganglians describing their sound on Monster Head Room: “This album is pure naive headphone acid pop to drive to, at least that’s what was going through our heads.” Well I know I’m ready for some acid pop driving!! (not safe by the way) Enjoy the tune from these Sacromentonians (?).
