Here is a collaboration between Birthdays and Cough Cool that was done while Birthdays was on tour. The song is a dense, foggy jam perfect for this sweat-dripping 106 degree day in Tejas.

Sammy Yager sent over another track from his upcoming BOC 4-way split with Vacation Dad, Panda Teeth, and Many Mansions–it is said to be out early July. This demoniacal free-based-out track is the lullaby your ears ring in on the peaceful drive home after a weekend party-binge. Birthdays will be touring late summer with the aforementioned Vacation Dad on a western States bout, if you can help with any of the dates, let the fellas know here.

The Great Samuel Yager (works right?) of Birthdays sent over a track for his upcoming split on Breakfast of Champs with Panda Teeth and Vacation Dad (who’ve also been buzzed by us before). That track is a horse-trot through sputtering electric guitar back by the hummy interfence of synth beats. We will no doubt keep you in tune with the other tracks on this split whenever they may pop up. Update: in the process of putting this post together I found a very chill video of Birthdays live last year, check it out below.

Last time we heard from Samuel Yager’s Birthdays it was just around the time of his Little Fury Things EP release of Mating Falls. His latest, “Procreating Flower Bug” is a short two minute jaunt through warbled synths and super coated vocals. This thing is still in “demo” status but seeing as we still haven’t heard any more news regarding his Breakfast of Champs release, I’m thinking this could be one of the tracks on there.

Tons been going on the past few weeks, some reissues from Black Tambourine and The Magnetic Fields in the making, our friends finishing their EP, and some cool devs in SXSW type stuff (stay tuned). Stop by our friends at Indie-Verse (4 PM CST) and click the link to listen. Check the playlist and cop some mp3s after the jump.

We were sent this track a few days back by Samuel Yager, known by the pseudonym Birthdays, and I just got around to listening to it and its consequently made my day. The track is “Biggie Shorty” and comes off his Mating Falls EP out on Little Fury Things and he alluded to a new EP on one of our fav labels, Breakfast Of Champs. The track is a boisterous escape into a thicket of soft-sounds and understated vocals. The end of this song comes in at a healthy 3 min but for all enjoyable purposes I have to keep it on repeat.
