There are plenty of good/great albums that are released within a year’s time, but it is a rare moment when a prefect album is created. Today is the official release date for Beach House’s gorgeous Teen Dream, their first album on Sub Pop, and it is just that. Perfect. Already (and predictably) earning Pitchfork’s nod of BNM, as well as millions of blogger swoons world wide, this piece of magic can now be owned in a unique “collectors edition” type package and all without spending $50+. After waiting practically 2 years exactly, we will all finally be receiving the grace and beauty of a new Beach House record early 2010. Today the band released the first song for everyone to melt and drivel to while listening. They’ve really outdone themselves with this new song “Norway,” chirpy chord changes and hauntingly-slow background rhythms feel like molasses is swelling from the speakers. This band has done no wrong as of yet.
