To get in that “holiday spirit”, our selection of tracks for this week’s episode are all about Christmas. The majority of these are a bit older but there is a new track that Banjo or Freakout recently finished that we added in the mix. So, head over to Indie-Verse at 1 pm CST (or just listen all day) and check us out. Merry Christmas!

Alessio from Banjo or Freakout just sent over his new video for “Left it Alone” which was just released as a 7″ earlier this year via Half Machine. The thing is still available and pressed on transparent vinyl. Directed by Alexander Brown.

Still going strong two weeks into our programming on, the great, Indie-Verse radio and we’ve got another nice lineup of tunes. We’ve got the local scene covered with some tracks from Fergus & Geronimo and The Uptown Bums. Also, my new collective friends from Oxford, MS, Cats Purring, have their fair share of play time. Listen to the show today at 1 PM CST and again on Saturday at the same time. We’ll be in Denton (at Rubber Gloves) tonight for our show with Crystal Antlers, Video and Uptown Bums. Come say hi. Head here for the link to stream. Hit the jump for the tracklisting.

Jonathan Clancy just sent over this icy new recording this morning on a northern from Canada. From his signature Ronettes styled drum influence to the cold pings on the xylophone, “Ottawa Backfired Soon” serves as harbinger for the winter weather to come/that’s already there (Patriot’s game, wtf?). Transparent has also made it known that His Clancyness will be accompanying Banjo or Freakout in the UK for his 7″ release party, and it’s free! Which, um, I’ll be unable to attend.

Last week, Half Machine Records mentioned the release of their new Banjo or Freakout 7″ coming in October, “Left It Alone”. Pitchfork just premiered the b-side “Breathe Out” earlier today and it’s droning craftmanship has got me floating. I’ve also got the a-side available for streaming. Stop by Half Machine Records and set yrs up for pre-order.

Aside from his umpteen stellar remix gems (Animal Collective, Panda Bear, Banjo or Freakout, etc.) I was made aware of Phaseone’s solo tunes a week or so ago on GvsB. It’s no secret that he [Phaseone] has his entire album up for grabs, but Matt from Lefse Records just brought to my attention that they have now signed, yet, another great artist. If all you’ve heard are his remixes, do your self a favor and grab Thanks But No Thanks, sit back, and enjoy. Still skeptical? Here’s a couple of tracks to help make up yr mind. Click here for the album.

Yesterday, Pitchfork “forkasted” this great track from UK DIYer Banjo or Freakout. His latest 12″ ep, Upside Down, puts me at a total loss for words. Alessio Natalizia’s music is like a bird’s eye view and will take your head way past the Earth’s atmosphere. Like I said, complete loss for words. Listen for yourself, I strongly recommend this track. His EP is available here via Half Machines.
