It’s no secret that A Sunny Day In Glasgow’s latest LP, Ashes Grammar, is one of our favorites this year. Still they find ways to amaze with their surprising cover of the Misfit’s classic, “Hybrid Moments”. While they definitely make it their own, they don’t get overindulgent and and make it unrecognizable. Short, fast, and loud. Just like you remembered it.

Already expressing eager anticipation for A Sunny Day In Glasgow’s Ashes Grammar LP, the folks at Stereogum premiered a new single late last week. “Failure” is hazy, shimmering, and an every bit of amazing pop gem that stands tall on their new LP. Actually, upon my visit to the Mis Ojos lair, it would appear that AG was issued for download on iTunes just yesterday and the thing is massive. 22 tracks at over an hour of play will do more than keep your senses busy. Good news, they still have some of their limited issue vinyl, which is a 2x LP in a multitude of colors. They only produced 250 copies to dole out, so order it now and it should be at yr place by the 15th.

Late last month, A Sunny Day In Glasgow, dropped track listing info for their upcoming release, Ashes Grammar. Two weeks later, we are given some audible treats. As a matter of fact, these are actually two tracks tied together that segue into one another with seamless beauty. After a few spins of “Ashes Grammar/Ashes Math”, it appears that they are set to head down the same path of synth driven shoegaze that brought me to love 2007’s Scribble Mural Comic Journal. To be released by Mis Ojos, Ashes Grammar, is already set for pre-order in CD format and a very rare 2xLP pressing (only 250 worldwide) in multi-colored vinyl. Get ‘em while you can, limited to one per order.
