Nearly three years since the breathtaking 23, Blonde Redhead are finally starting to send out hints (via 4ad) that a new full-length could be on the way. “Here Sometimes” is a sensual muse; a humid stroll floating over a green canopy . While drawing from their rich bass-laden touchstones from prior albums, the direction they appear to be taking is something much more primal. This track is progressively enveloping and its comforting lull is absolutely trance inducing. Not exactly sure of their future plans I am sure that, once again, Blonde Redhead have landed on something great.

Ariel Pink’s albums/singles have always been on a hit or miss basis with me. In this particular case the new 4ad single, “Round and Round”, is a dead center bullseye. Even though i don’t see this bestial artwork as spot-on as the tune itself, I would have to call this one of the smoothest sounds I’ve heard this year thus far. The full length is still without title and official release date, but this limited single is set for a proper release this April 26th and will, no doubt, spend hours on my phono.

Yet another brilliant single (and one more NSFW piece of album art), The Big Pink offer up “Dominos”. As we mentioned before, their latest LP, A Brief History of Love, is set to release on 9/14 via 4AD. So far, it looks like they are keeping true to their theme. Thanks to GvsB for making a “clean” version of the cover.

Another phenominal release from UK’s The Big Pink to follow up “Velvet”. No worries, this time the album art is safe for productive work internet surfing (unlike last time [NSFW]). “Stop the World”, also released by 4AD, also showcases that Brits still possess a stronghold on shoegazing. More of a pop-y side to their catalogue, producer Paul Epworth (Bloc Party, Futureheads, etc.) steps in to leave his touch on this track. Finally releasing album information, The Big Pink will release their debut LP, A Brief History of Love, on September 14th via 4AD and “every song is a love song to some degree, about every different aspect of love”.
