[track premiere] heavy hawaii//teen angel

Southern California label Art Fag Recordings–most notably responsible for last year’s Summer anthem:  “Sun Was High (So Was I)“–is the latest home to the native Heavy Hawaii.  If you remember their breaking-out with incredibly catchy “Sleeping Bag” featured on Bathetic’s eternally awesome Summer Bummer (Get Laid, Get Wasted) compilation (which is long gone), then you’re already aware of the hammocked lazy-day vibes radiating from their tunes.  “Teen Angel”, one of many highlights from their upcoming proper EP, highlights HH’s uncanny vocal harmonies and is near perfect timing as these Summer days are beginning to dwindle.  As mentioned, these tracks will be available via Art Fag towards the end of the month.

[track premiere] flight//turns to blood

Its rare these days that an artist creates unique sound that is immediately recognizable when you hear it, FLIGHT has done this with their spectral moans and phantasmal guitar licks. Hailing from the Southern depths of Oxford, MS this band is channeling much more than just Ghosts Of Mississippi, and in a continuation of their sound they are set to release a new 6-song EP titled The Lead Riders through the always solid Zoo Music. The sludgy opener to the record “Turns To Blood” is a an amassed, dusky piece where vocal harmonies and drilling synth and guitar are amalgamated and yet something so crowded never sounded so sweet.

[album premiere] final club//hot gaze

We are very proud to premiere the debut record from Denton’s own Final Club; a band clutched in the cradle of punk and shoegaze and swaddled in a cannibis leaf. In the middle of prepping for this record release, the band has been filling out local Denton cut-n-shoots and sold out Dan’s Silverleaf before they even played a note. Two nights later they played a show we presented with The Spooks and Wild Harem–it was a devil of an experience. The band creates a pulsating nu-gaze into DIY-punk-party-ethics with a love for the guitar-driven music of the early 90s. Weekly Tape Deck very happily presents to you Final Club’s debut record, Hot Gaze.  Get ‘em one at a time or download in it’s entirety at the bottom.

Final Club – Ruded
Final Club – Butts and Ash
Final Club – A Tragic World
Final Club – Botching The Blondes
Final Club – Runaway Bay
Final Club – Wizard Wells
