Here is a video of the intimate performance Youth Lagoon gave us at Dan’s Silverleaf in Denton last week. The sound is perfect, it’s exactly as I heard at the show. Chris Bryan of Peopleodian created the piece and inserts visions of our the local landscape intermittently through the video. The Denton Archive fb page contains a slew of other videos from recent shows.

We’re very happy to announce that the next release on our Forest Family label will be the ambrosial Denver duo Tennis. With their Origins 7″ the band hits a musical stride with two new songs, one produced by Patrick Carney of Black Keys fame. We first posted about this Boise kid back in April, and now will be the first time anyone in the area can see him live. Tonight Youth Lagoon will be playing Dan’s Silverleaf with Young Magic and local gonzo-pop outfit Peopleodian. I’ve heard echoing of an intensely personal live-set from Trevor Powers throughout his current tour. Dan’s Silverleaf is not a large place by any means, so if you want to spare yourself heartache you’ll order your tickets online before hand (and also save $3) at SpuneTickets. The doors are at 8 and the show starts at 9, 18+. See you there.

Ranging from punchy and quick to sample-riddled long form movments, these Portuguese instrumentalists are known as Sensible Soccers. Describing themselves as “four human beings from the rural parts of Portugal, playing a very sensitive soccer with a psychedelic sense.”

Major labels will always run wild. Is this Harlem-born, Houston-influenced kid worth every bit of $3 million? I think so. This track off his newest mixtape LiveLoveA$AP is a slow burner but the beat and rhymes are top notch.
