A band that surprised the hell out of everyone a few years ago, Rangers, is back with a new song. A quick listen on the headphones and you’ll realize this track is a slimy, viscous mess for your eardrums. Seamless but ambient, the title says it all; this song pays homage to the weightless Xanax daze and concocted flight attendant friendliness. Double LP Pan Am Stories will be out on Not Not Fun

Well-shot, whimsical video from Craft Spells. For me, the beats from the band always induces thoughts of Madonna and some of the bubblegum pop of the 80s melded with campy movie montages. They can certainly do some good things in the future with this sound.

Never got around to posting this. This band just signed to Fat Possum and will be releasing Teen Jamz on October 11th. Serious 90′s warmth going on with Gross Magic, which can either end up shitty or right on, thankfully the latter in this case. The lead singers voice is like a Industrial Revolution-era orphan girl with miner’s lung, but by the same token its completely awesome.

Florida garage miscreants, Jacuzzi Boys, will be blasting in Denton tomorrow, September the 24th. With them they’ll bring a slick brand of lazy-tongued mod-pop that should fit in nicely at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios. They’ll also be toting new songs and a new LP, Glazin’, that was just released on Hardly Art late last month. The show starts at 9pm and is $6/$8 to get in–also playing are American Werewolf Academy and Deep Snapper.

One of the more anticipated records of the last year will be coming out soon enough, Real Estate has graced us with a new song from Days. The band takes us slowly and charmingly into the Autumn with the predictably adroit slow jam “Green Aisles”. Pre-order on LP/Cassette/CD.
