Pacific Pride is a pack of musicians ranging from yacht-pop to psychedelic and experimental, namely Tennis drummer James Barone, Robert Ballentyne from Tjutjuna, Germaine Baca from Old Time Relijun, with the main songwriting duties taken by Paul Garcia. There are certainly influences of yesteryear from bands like Silver Jews and Pavement. Even the song title “Yankee Soda” looks like a track off American Water, but where Berman/Malkmus remained uniform, Pacific Pride jams out.
Vamping In The Key Of Niche 7-inch EP is out on April 5th through Fire Talk Records
