Last year Tim Presley’s brainchild, White Fence, managed to seize our temporal lobes with his incredibly psychedelic self-titled debut; and again with this year’s Is Growing Faith. Featuring a track from the latter, “Harness”, b/w a serene stroll through strawberry fields in “The Pool”. This 7″ is the inaugural release for new label (and vintage clothing boutique) Afterlife and one hell of a way to kick things off.

Here come Lil Daggers, groping every passerby and staring at dogs until they pee. Well, maybe they aren’t the swaggering soldiers I imagined at first listen, but the Miami-based outfit’s psychedlic nuggets do give off that brashness originally patented by The Doors. “Slave Exchange,” a cut from the band’s forthcoming LP, moves like spilled honey, building a languid landscape of sludgy bass, slack vocals, and creeping organ.

Spune was gracious enough to let us host a wonderful show they booked, to wet your appetite for the mass onslaught headed through North Texas in the next month. Sic Alps who rarely come through and if they do they play to 20 people in a hallway in Dallas, are about to blow everyones minds at Haileys in Denton with their cacaphonic pscychedelia. They’re making the rounds after releasing one of the best records of the year thus far, their 22 track tour-de-force, Napa Asylum, an LP that is already SOLD OUT through Drag City. Also, can we talk about how Matt Hartman of Henry’s Dress is in Sic Alps? “Third-eye-opening minimalist kraut-rock” band CAVE will be playing as well as Denton 90s noise rock bloodhounds Kampfgrounds. $6 for over and $8 for under. Fbook invite here.

New Jersey’s Honeydrum has been stirring things up for about 2 months now through their constant stream of new videos on vimeo, the update of new music on their tumblr, and they’ve already released two tapes. The band produces dark, analog gems with the occasional brief aside from a guitar solo. Some of it comes out sounding like Magnetic Fields, some of it comes out sounding like Bauhaus–so all the bases are covered.

Been meaning to post this for quite awhile, some new music from Washington Natives Naomi Punk. Not to be predictable but these fellows do in fact stay true to the state’s grunge roots of the 90s, ripping massive riffs and ride the delicate balance between heavy and soft. The newest release CLS is a compact disc that you can purchase for a mere $3.
