The man is a veritable musical genius in the making and his new record Mare was just BNM’d on Pitchfork. If you seen any of this live videos you might have a taste of what kind of a treat we are all in for tonight. The show is $5 and presented by cleverly-named local blog start-ups We Denton Do It and showcases razzle dazzle-psych from Sun Dress and Goldilocks and the Rocks, as well as an Austin band we’ve been lovin’ on for awhile now, Soft Healer. So come on out and drink a Schlitz, grab a slice and get your auditory cortex stimulated.

Although this our first time to feature anything from Julian Lynch‘s Mare full-length (via OESB), I can say that it’s been spending more than its fair share of time blaring through my speakers. Today GvsB premiered the first official video from this LP for “In New Jersey”. If you’re going to be around Denton tonight, J Lynch is taking over J&J’s Pizza along with some of our Austin favs: Soft Healer.

Sammy Yager sent over another track from his upcoming BOC 4-way split with Vacation Dad, Panda Teeth, and Many Mansions–it is said to be out early July. This demoniacal free-based-out track is the lullaby your ears ring in on the peaceful drive home after a weekend party-binge. One of our absolute favorites from last year, A Grave With No Name has been somewhat quiet since the outstanding Debris Mountain. A couple of new tracks up on their myspace and it looks like they’re back in business. Earlier this morning, they actually shared a download of one of these tunes, “Crows”. A serene, pensive piece that goes straight for your heartstrings. Stay tuned for more details, could be a new release is in the making.
