Coincidentally I did not seek out finding Naomi Punk, but happened to be talking to the artist (guess who) who released this record (somewhat secretively) and he passed it along; frankly it quite nearly floored me. Beyond the sweet story of the artist’s Mother recording her Rwandan school children singing along to one of the songs, the music stands for itself. The fresh-baked melodies and jarring jangles are enough to induce a peyote trip. This is the kind of music that makes you stoked to be alive and I have no doubt you will be hearing much more from Naomi Punk in the near future. This is the kind of music that is so impressive upon first hearing it, that you feel the artist could steal your girlfriend solely based on the contents of his songs. The abundance of talent here is overflowing so if you wish to contribute to the future of first-rate music, please purchase a hard copy here.
