Jangly guitars and silky smooth female vocals that could only come from Stuart Murdoch’s long-lost sister; Standard Fare take influences from C86 bands and twee pop from the 90s to compose fresh, bouncy arrangements. The three-piece hails from Sheffield, England and have recently put out their debut single on Thee Sheffield Phonographic Corporation as a split 7-inch single with Slow Down Tallahassee, another local Sheffield act. You will have a hard time finding any music from this band next to what is on their Myspace and the 7-inch, but I recommend both as you will be able to hear their outstanding single “Dancing”.
