Though released back in March, I find it hard to pass up sharing a band that catches my ear like Young Coyotes have. Hailing from the mile-high Denver pop scene this band renders comparisons to the likes of The Dodos and dare I say a bouncier version of The Shins early prototype, Flake Music. The band digitally released two EPs in March via Brother Bear Records; one being an early recording titled Basement and the other Exhale comprised of new tracks. The former is also up for download free on the band’s website. Im inclined to think that Brother Bear Records is the bands incarnation as I cannot find a website or any other releases to boot. The understated recording on the Exhale EP is what caught my attention most, the instruments hit hard and the down-tempo vocals blend seamlessly in the music without sounding too prosaic. This is best presented in this little ditty titled “In My House”.
