I’ve been meaning to write about this recent find for a couple weeks now, but for whatever reason kept putting it off. Dreamy, spaced out (rockabilly at times) electric pop songs with trickles of random noise make this debut from Raleigh, NC band, The Light Pines a certain must buy/find. I say find because they are unsigned and it’s difficult to understand why a record label hasn’t scooped them up yet. This 24 song album just plain rocks. I wish I could put the whole damn album up so everyone can understand the scope of this recording. The Doors are listed as an influence and this threesome definitely have moments where they invoke that reference. My only worry is that some may find the length exorbitant, but most songs are fairly brisk and when you aren’t on a label…well, you can do whatever the hell you want.

Where did you get a copy of their album? I found their myspace a really long time ago and love their music, would love to have that album.
